This supplemental guide supports the decision-making process regarding students who will take the HSA-Alt. This document includes the current four-part HSA-Alt Participation Guidelines as well as definitions for "significant cognitive disability" and "adaptive behavior," and clarifies misconceptions about the factors that should be considered when identifying students who will take the HSA-Alt.
